Anita took these photos one month before Short Street school finally closed it's doors to the infants of The Waterside Housing estate...sad day sooo many happy memories for all of us. The third photo is Mr Webb's house 'the caretaker' for many years...lovely old chap! Used to have a huge siren situated on corner of Short Street and Baker Street.

Views along Short Street with the entrance gate to the school in the first picture. The Newsagents that was for years Colson's is shown in the second picture, where most of the children would call on their way to school each morning to spend their threepennybit at the sweet counter.
