NEWSTART 'God' Shops as they are affectionately known to the locals, are more than just a charity shop. A meeting place for the community, customers regularly call in just for a chat or sometimes to ask us to pray for them. The Stapenhill shop opened in 1991 and in 2000 another opened it's doors to the Winshill community. The shops were born out of a vision of local Christians wanting to show God's love in the community by practical help.
Newstart take in donated items of clothing, and various kinds of Bric-a-Brac.
Sorry, we do not have the space to take in furniture. PLEASE CONTACT YMCA
Each shop employs a Manager and part-time sales assistant. The workforce also includes a team of around 30 Christian volunteers from congregations across Burton. |
